Review:
Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc episode 3 almost commences from where the second episode ended - at one person out of Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu being suspicious about a demon’s presence. Tengen Uzui is not a part of the episode, which works in its favour. For once through the series so far, his creepy nature does not take the series’ level down by a bit.
The episode begins with a flashback. It is the flashback which gives us a glimpse of what happened to Tengen’s wife, Makio. With that, we also get a glimpse of what lures people into the Orimoto house.
Inosuke, staying true to his nature, is quick on his feet without thinking too much. The punch scene is quite messed up but in a good way. Tanjiro is also his true self as he does his work diligently. Known to have a keen sense, he does get a hint about the dark turn of events pretty darn soon.
Meanwhile, another person finds out the truth and with that, the series gets even more twisted. The person is the best fit for finding the truth, since his character also grows with the scene.
This episode brings back the real terror in all of Demon Slayer franchise - Muzan, in all his glory. Of course everyone knew he was the brains behind it all but he manages to bring terror even to his loyal associates. That is what makes him so scary in the whole franchise.
You cannot miss the post-credit scene, for it has a huge surprise in store. The shot after that provides for the perfect relief from all the tension and dark events. Thus, the episode, much like Demon Slayer’s theme, is a perfect balance between the two sides of the coin.
Verdict:
You absolutely cannot miss this episode because there is a huge twist. It helps a character grow fourfold and sees the struggles he along with every other character faces. Also, there’s no Tengen, so consider this a bonus episode or a Christmas gift, per say.
