The stories individually keep you gripped but Alejandro steals the show, partially thanks to the role he is given.

Story:
Alma (Maite Perroni) starts living her divorced life craving for Dario (Alejandro Speitzer) every day. While she is still dealing with what happened in the past, Dario makes a re-entry into her life. This time, though, Alma is a torn between being cautious and giving in till Dario's past slowly unfolds in front of her.
Review:
Have you ever desired something so much that you became obsessed with it and ended up ruining that? Welcome to the world of Dark Desire.
With a pool of blood, Dark Desire S2 promises to be just as suspensful and full of passion. Of course, Dario is at the centre of the whole story.
Alejandro Speitzer as Dario really keeps you at the edge-of-your-seat. You can never really understand him fully because he is that complicated a character. As an actor, Alejandro gets the maximum opportunity to show various sides to him and he doesn't fail you.
The makers have managed to show desire well once again. With flash images and passionate words and actions, the emotion is brought across really well.
The story takes a very weird turn, one in the church, with Esteban (Erik Hayser) at the centre of it. While the story makes your head spin, the makers have smartly added music that calms your senses.
By the second episode, the story gets back on track. The suspense and thrill are kept intact, which make the series a worthy watch. In fact, as you get closer to the bewildering truth, you will literally scream puta madre (motherfucker) [pun intented]!
While getting passion right, Dark Desire S2 also introduces something beautiful - vulnerability among men. Unlike many series, this one shows men hug and cry over each other's shoulder which should be normalized.
The story with Lys (Catherine Siachoque) gets a twist, one you wouldn't expect. However, there is a bigger mystery around Dario that you did not see coming. It changes the whole narrative of the series.
Every character in this season is so twisted that they all end up entering your suspect list. Even the usually level-headed Alma (Maite Perroni) easily climbs up to the top three suspects.
The makers have kept the charm of Spain intact. Sufficient spaces, funky attire and finding anything if you have the right contacts - it is that kind of a country and certain scenes in Dark Desire S2 explore the same.
The twists in the story, while complicated, do not manage to disappoint you in this season either. They blow your mind with every passing second because everything you were made to believe so far, shatters.
The way Alma stands her ground is commendable. The rather sexually driven Alma manages to keep her head on her shoulders with Dario around eventually, which comes as a pleasant move.
Dark Desire S2 shows you what obsession actually looks like. However, more importantly, it sets a clear priority which is not related to the theme of the show but that's the beauty of it.
Verdict:
As always, Dark Desire has steamy romance, passion and suspense at the centre of it. The stories individually keep you gripped but Alejandro steals the show, partially thanks to the role he is given. Maite as Alma was always someone to look out for and this season is no different. She takes back charge and that is a story we all deserve to see. All in all, if you like erotic thrillers, this one is a good bet.
