Varun Dhawan began his career in the Bollywood film industry as an assistant director to Karan Johar in his 2010 movie, My Name Is Khan and made his acting debut in Johar's 2012 movie, Student of the Year.
He appeared in the lead role in the movies Main Tera Hero and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014. Both became commercially successful movies and Dhawan soon became a popular actor across India.
Dhawan's performance in the 2015 crime thriller Badlapur as well as in October, released in 2018, was widely appreciated by critics and audiences alike.
ABCD 2, Dilwale and Dishoom are the other major movies that he has appeared in. Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor was released on July 21st 2023 on Amazon Prime.
