Born on March 1, 1966, Zachary Edward Snyder is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and cinematographer who made his feature film debut with Dawn of the Dead (2004).

His list of films is enormous and has earned him quite a name. Since his debut, he has produced a number of comic books and films. It includes 300 (2007) and Watchmen (2009), and the Superman film that started the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), Man of Steel (2013).

Often praised for his artistic frames and stylized sequences in films, the filmmaker is one of the most divisive in Hollywood - people either loathe his films with a passion or absolutely love them. He has amassed a cult online following who were instrumental in Warner Brothers greenlighting the original 4-hour cut of the 2017 film Justice League. The vastly superior and different Snyder Cut, as the fans called it, was released in 2021 titled Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Fans continue to campaign to restore Snyder’s original vision for the DCEU using the hashtag RestoretheSnydeverse.
