Created by George Lucas, the Star Wars franchise is a space-opera franchise that explores multiple plots across films and TV shows. First setting its creative foot in 1977, there has been no looking back as the franchise has become one of the biggest in history.

The journey of the franchise began with the original film Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), followed by the sequels Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983) - the first original Star Wars trilogy.

The prequel trilogy - Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005), might not have garnered the same recognition as the original trilogy but have become cult classics.

The franchise further expanded into the sequel trilogy - Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015), Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017), and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

The franchise has also released several successful animated shows, live-action shows, and comic books.
