From BTS' RM to SEVENTEEN' S Coups: Leaders of HYBE Labels' K-Pop groups

RM (BTS)

RM, whose birth name is Kim Nam-joon, assumes the role of leader and rapper within BTS, a globally acclaimed K-Pop sensation. Soobin (TXT)

TOMORROW X TOGETHER, commonly known as TXT, stands as a rising force in the K-Pop scene and leading this group is Soobin. Born with the full name Choi Soobin, he holds a pivotal position in shaping their path to stardom and exudes charisma and charm, making him an ideal leader for the group. He ensures that the group's artistic direction remains in harmony with their overarching vision. In addition to guiding the group's performances, he plays a central role in steering TXT's creative journey.

Jungwon (ENHYPEN)

ENHYPEN, a group that gained prominence through the widely watched reality show 'I-LAND,' is led by the capable Jungwon. Born with the full name Park Jongwon, he assumes the crucial role of the group's leader. Jungwon's commitment to his leadership role is strikingly apparent in his interactions with the group's fans, lovingly referred to as "ENGENE," and his fellow members. S.Coups (SEVENTEEN)

Choi Seung-cheol, more popularly recognized as S.Coups, stands as the charismatic leader of SEVENTEEN. This multi-talented group is celebrated for their remarkable self-producing capabilities. S.Coups takes the reins in guiding this 13-member ensemble with unwavering passion and commitment. Chaewon (Le Sserafim)

Le Sserafim, a burgeoning girl group renowned for their captivating music and mesmerizing performances, is under the guiding leadership of Chaewon. Her full name, Choi Chaewon, carries a reputation for an extraordinary blend of talent, charisma, and leadership that she brings to the ensemble. Notably, Chaewon previously featured as a member of the reality competition series Produce 48's resulting girl group Iz*One in 2018, where she honed her abilities to handle pressure and lead her group to deliver stellar performances.

Saerom (fromis_9)

Lee Sae-rom, who goes by the professional name Saerom, is a versatile talent in the entertainment world, excelling as a model, actress, singer, and a valued member of the girl group fromis_9. In addition to her role as the group's leader, Saerom is renowned for her multifaceted talents as the lead dancer, vocalist, rapper, and visual, bearing additional responsibilities within the ensemble. Her appointment as the group's captain, a term used interchangeably with leader, stems from her age and substantial experience in the industry.

EJ (&TEAM)

J-pop grpup &TEAM is led by none other than EJ, whose full name is Byun Eui Joo. EJ stands out as a rapper and singer in the group. His journey to leadership in &TEAM is quite noteworthy, as he gained recognition through his participation in reality survival shows like 'I-LAND' and '&AUDITION - The Howling.' Although he did not debut with ENHYPEN, he emerged as a member of HYBE Labels Japan's Global Debut Project boy group, &TEAM. His leadership journey wasn't without its challenges as initially he was hesitant to accept the role but eventually embraced it, even though he is a non-Japanese member of the group. 

Jaehyun (BOYNEXTDOOR)

Jaehyun, affiliated with KOZ Entertainment, is a versatile artist who wears multiple hats as a rapper and singer-songwriter. He assumes the role of leader for the boy group BOYNEXTDOOR, a testament to his previous experience as a high school sports team captain. Jaehyun, also known as Myung Jae Hyun, is no stranger to leadership responsibilities. He boasts a diverse skill set, with a notable talent for creating music and his abilities extend to both singing and rapping, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

NewJeans - No Leader

ADOR's girl group, consisting of five members, made their debut in 2022, quickly gaining prominence with their refreshing "girl next door" image and "easy listening" pop and R&B songs.. Unlike many K-Pop groups, this talented ensemble has chosen not to designate a leader or specific positions within the group, a rarity in the industry. The CEO of ADOR, recognizing the conventions and constraints that often accompany K-Pop, decided to take a more rebellious and innovative approach and sought to break free from the established formulas and norms, allowing the group to chart their unique path.

I'LL-IT - No official leader

Following the conclusion of the JTBC survival show "R U Next?," BELIFT LAB introduced its newest girl group. Despite this exciting development, HYBE and Belift Lab have not yet made an official announcement regarding the group's leader. Among the members, Yunah stands out as a strong candidate as she holds the distinction of being the oldest member of I'LL-IT, with a seniority of approximately four months. Yunah's extensive training period, spanning nearly five years, further enhances her qualifications for leadership. While her playful side is evident, Yunah is equally dedicated and serious when it comes to her work, demonstrating a well-rounded approach that could benefit the group in numerous ways.
