Biju Menon (Aarkkariyam), Revathy (Bhoothakaalam), Dileesh Pothan (Joji) also figured in the list of winners this year.
52nd Kerala State Film Awards
The winners of the 52nd Kerala State Film Awards were announced on Friday. A host of OTT releases, such as Fahadh Faasil’s Joji, anthology Freedom Fight and Tovino Thomas’ Minnal Murali, found a place in this year’s winners’ list as well. Dileesh Pothan won the award for Joji, which stars Fahadh Faasil. Adapted from Shakespeare’s drama, Macbeth, the film can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Biju Menon won the Best Actor award for Aarkkariyam. The Amazon Prime Video film also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu and Sharafudheen.

Joju George too bagged the award for Nayattu, Madhuram and Freedom Fight. While Nayattu is available to stream on Netflix, Madhuram and Freedom Fight can be streamed on SonyLIV.

Revathi won the Best Actress award at the state film festival for Bhoothakaalam. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, it also stars Shane Nigam.

Freedom Fight won the Special Jury Award at the 52nd Kerala State Film Awards. The anthology includes films by Jeo Baby, Kunjila Mascillamani, Jithin Issac Thomas, Akhil Anilkumar and Francies Louis. The SonyLIV movie stars Rajisha Vijayan, Joju George, Sidhartha Siva, Srindaa and others.

Hridayam bagged the prize for Best Popular film. The Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial also stars Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Darshana Rajendran. The film can be streamed on Disney+Hotstar.

Sumesh Moor won the award for Best Character Actor for his performance in Kala. The film, directed by Rohith V.S, also starred Tovino Thomas, Lal and Divya Pillai.
