Zahrah Khan, who has been in the news for the right reasons for her several hit numbers in the recent past, including Aafat (Liger), Nach Punjaban (Jug Jugg Jeeyo) and Kusu Kusu (Satyameva Jayate 2), is back in action with a peppy single Kinna Sonna from Phone Bhoot. The excitement of the singer-actress knows no bounds, more so after the overwhelming response for her number from the Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khattar and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer.
Lyricised and composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Kinna Sonna, featuring Katrina Kaif, was crooned by Zahrah. The singer's voice has been the talk of the town ever since the song released. Many have claimed that the texture of the singer's voice has suited Katrina to perfection on screen. There's a common link to all of her recently released numbers - Aafat, Nach Punjaban and Kinna Sonna were all recorded during the lockdown.
Zahrah claims she had a hectic schedule during lockdown because while dubbing for one film after the film. She cheekily says that the 'seeds were sown in 2020' and they're all bearing fruit since 2021! In fact, her first-ever playback number Harfunn Maula was also recorded in the same time. Zahrah sang Kinna Sonna around August or September 2020, and labels it a personal favourite among all her numbers. "My voice texture has never sounded as raw and real before,” she beams with joy.
Having debuted as a singer and actor alongside Arjun Kapoor in Aurangzeb, Zahrah Khan’s single Khudse Zyada too received a lot of appreciation, a number she had done in collaboration with music composer-producer Tanishk Bagchi. Some of her other hit songs are Kya Karte They Saajna, a remake of the famous original, in Ayushmann Khurranna's Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. Other songs like Nayi Dhoop, Harfunn Maula, Dil Hai Deewana, Sakhiyan 2.0 (Bell Bottom) are also part of her discography.
