Yuvan Shankar Raja to make his directorial debut soon; the untitled movie to release in 2023

Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja had taken to Twitter the other day to pen a heartfelt note on having completed 25 years in the industry. He thanked his fans, well wishers, directors and producers who made his journey beautiful. Aravindhan was the first film for which he composed music, and his latest release is Valimai.

He had organized an event in Chennai in which he personally thanked everyone from the film industry who made a significant change in his life. Yuvan, who is reclusive by nature, surprised everyone at the event when he announced that he will be making his directorial debut soon. 

At the thanksgiving meet, he also revealed that the untitled movie will be a female-centric entertainer, which is devoid of a male lead. According to him, the scripting for the project has been done and he is waiting for the right time to take it on floors. 

The movie is likely to be produced by him. He has earlier produced Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (streaming on Zee5). Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Maamanithan, which is expected to release later this year, is another project which he has produced. He has composed music for the first time with his father Ilaiyaraaja in the movie.

Yuvan revealed that he will be producing a few more projects, including one which will have him join hands with Jio Cinema. It is heard that Yuvan's foray into direction will happen this year, and it is likely that the movie will hit the screens in 2023. 

He currently has projects like Dhanush's Naane Varuven, Santhanam's Agent Kannayiram, Karthi's Viruman and Ameer's Iraivan Miga Periyavan among others which are in different stages of production. Many Kollywood celebrities wished the actor on his completion of 25 years on social media.
