Yuvan Shankar Raja claims he has not signed for Then Mavattam, RK Suresh says 'check contract'. What is the controversy?

A new controversy seems to be brewing in the Tamil film industry between composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and actor-director RK Suresh. On Monday, Suresh shared the first look poster of his upcoming movie, Then Mavattam.

The poster featured Suresh in a rugged avatar while claiming that the film will boast music from composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. Soon, the composer took to his social media handles and denied the news, rubbishing claims about him lending his services to Suresh's Then Mavattam.

"A clarification for the press, media, and fans! I have not been committed or approached by anyone for being the music director of the above film, Then Mavattam," Yuvan tweeted.

Suresh reacted to Yuvan's tweet, asking the composer to check the contract. "Hi Yuvan sir, you have signed for the movie and live in concert. Kindly check the agreement. Thank you @thisisysr sir," he said.

At this moment, we don't have full information as to what has led to this confusion between Yuvan and Suresh. However, there are some reports about Yuvan's pending professional obligation to Suresh.

What is this new controversy?

Reportedly, Suresh had bailed Yuvan out of a difficult situation during the release of the 2022 movie Maamanithan. Starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, Yuvan had bankrolled Maamanithan. In return, Yuvan had allegedly signed a contract to score music for Suresh's film.

Yuvan is yet to provide more clarification on the matter. However, Suresh seems determined to persuade Yuvan to score music for Then Mavattam. Besides writing and directing, Suresh is also acting in the lead role. Then Mavattam marks Suresh's debut as a director.

In the meantime, Yuvan is busy scoring music for Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie The Greatest Of All Time . Billed as a sci-fi thriller, the film is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu.
