Siddhant Chaturvedi's first action film Yudhra got the biggest benefit from it releasing on National Cinema Day. The movie has earned a fairly good opening at the Box Office since the ticket prices were slashed to Rs. 100 on National Cinema Day. Nearly 48,000 tickets were already sold in multiplexes, and thus, the Box Office numbers for the film, as expected, are promising.
Yudhra has minted over Rs. 4.50 crores at the Box Office on day 1, according to Sacnilk. This is just the early estimates, counted based on the movie tickets sold till evening. The Box Office numbers could go as high as Rs. 5 crores, too.
Many other films at the Box Office have enjoyed their run for a while now. Stree 2 released over a month back and thus, it has seen an obvious drop, despite the offer. Tumbbad, already made on a lower budget in comparison, has already recovered its cost, so the drop even there is expected. In comparison, Yudhra, which is the latest offering for the audiences, saw the biggest Box Office opening among them.
Munjya, made on a budget of Rs. 30 crores, also had a comparatively slower opening number (opening of Rs. 3.75 crores). However, the film picked up and is now among the highest-grossers of the year with Rs. 132.13 crores of lifetime Box Office run. The movie was released on June 7, which is a week after Cinema Lovers' Day. It did not enjoy Rs. 99 movie ticket offer but the audiences were in theatres to watch the film for sure. As for Yudhra, the film has seen a slower opening as compared to the budget of the movie. Whether it will pick up at the Box Office over the new few days would be interesting to watch.
Reportedly, Yudhra, which is backed by Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, is made on a budget of Rs. 50 crores. The film has a long way to go if it wants to reach those numbers, but it definitely received the boost on Friday. The weekend collections for this film will play a huge role in knowing whether Yudhra can actually come close to recovering the money spent in the making of the film.
