Siddhant Chaturvedi clarifies his 'struggle' comment on Ananya Panday spoofed in Call Me Bae: 'It’s not arrogance'

Siddhant Chaturvedi is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Yudhra. Ahead of it, the actor opened up on the comment that he made some years ago as it has surfaced again, in Ananya Panday’s new show Call Me Bae, where it has been used as a spoof. The actor also shared his opinions on the PR game and said that it is damaging to Bollywood. 

Siddhant Chaturvedi on struggle comment on Ananya Panday

In a new interview with India Today, Siddhant Chaturvedi addressed his old comment 'Jahan humare sapne poore hotein hain, wahin inka struggle shuru hoti hain (The point where we feel our dreams have been fulfilled is where their struggle begins)” on Ananya Panday which was spoofed recently in Call Me Bae.

Reacting to this, he said that people have started calling him arrogant. "Honestly, it’s not arrogance, it’s just confidence. I feel it’s hard to survive in this industry if you don’t speak up for yourself. Chances are that others will keep pressurizing you from time to time if you don’t know your self-worth and value," he said.

Siddhant also said that it is important to stand on your spine and that can come across as condescending or overconfident, but that is the fuel that drives him in life. 

Siddhant Chaturvedi on PR game in industry

Speaking about the PR game in the Bollywood industry, the Kho Gaye Hum Kahan actor said that there are a lot of market forces that are going around and also a lot of PR. 

Additionally, he said that the perception being created by PR is damaging Bollywood. "It’s the perception game right now which is damaging Bollywood. It’s all mostly perception these days. There’s no actual gravity or content, and you can manipulate that with your PR and multiple appearances," he stated.

As per him, there’s no novelty or credibility and he wouldn’t want to do anything like that because he wants to bring credibility and commerce to the table.

Siddhant will soon be seen in Yudhra. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun, and Gajraj Rao. Written by Shridhar Raghavan, Yudhra has been backed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The movie will hit the big screen on September 20, 2024.
