The film, a hard-hitting courtroom drama, has Ajai playing a lawyer fighting for justice for a mother, whose young child is subjected to abuse. Ahead of the film’s theatrical outing, a trailer that will give audiences a glimpse into the world of Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2, will be launched on April 13.

Doing the honours of the trailer launch is none other than Crazy Star V Ravichandran, who starred in the original Yuddha Kaanda, the 1989 courtroom drama, which was the remake of the Hindi film Meri Jung. Ravichandran will launch the trailer of the film, which also stars Archana Jois, Supritha Satyanarayan, Prakash Belawadi, among others, at 11.30 am.

Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2 is Ajai’s first release since 2022’s Shokiwala , a subject he believed was important to be brought to the big screen. The core element of the film revolves around justice delayed being justice denied, with pertinent messaging in the film for parents of girl children about keeping them safe and preventing abuse.

Ajai is hopeful that the film will bring about a social discourse, societal and even legal changes that will deter people from unleashing abuse on girls/women. In media interactions, Ajai has been clear that he felt compelled to not only act in the Pavan Bhat directorial, but produce it as well, as he has a young daughter, and could not help but think what he would do if any member of his family were ever in a situation as depicted in the film.

The film, believes Ajai, will give him the name and fame that he deserves after 2 decades in Sandalwood. He has also revealed that his aim is to screen the film for the President of the nation, Smt Draupadi Murmu, which, he says, will go a long way in giving Yuddhakaanda wider visibility.
