Even as its fourth instalment is streaming, Young Sheldon is prepping for season five, as revealed by child artiste Raegan Revord. Taking to Instagram, Revord shared a peek into the pre-production madness of the series, as it gears up for its fifth run.

In the video, after getting tested for COVID-19, she moves on to explore the wardrobe Missy will have for season five. The actress essays the role of Sheldon’s sister Missy in The Big Bang Theory spin-off.

Young Sheldon revolves around the childhood of quirky genius Sheldon Cooper, and his off-beat dysfunctional family, who try to support Sheldon in his endeavours. From Iain Armitage, Montana Jordan, Annie Potts, and Lance Barber to Zoe Perry, Wallace Shawn and Raegan Revord, the show has a talented cast.

The coronavirus pandemic forced the third season of Young Sheldon to be cut short, with its following year being pushed back from its scheduled date. This led to a delay in season 5, which will premiere in October instead of the usual mid-September release. It will pick from where the fourth season finale left – The Wild and Woolly World of Nonlinear Dynamics, which put Missy at the centre, as she dealt with boy problems for the first time.

The finale showcased a heated confrontation between George Sr and Mary Cooper, ending with a cliff-hanger, hinting towards the probability of season 5 focusing on the much-teased fall-out of the Cooper parents, as they continue to be on bad terms, along with the infidelity of the Cooper patriarch, as he may get involved in an affair with their divorcee neighbour Brenda.

However, Young Sheldon may not jump into the darker subject regarding the status of George and Mary’s marriage just yet, and would rather, with at least three full seasons of the show confirmed, pace the storytelling properly.
