Yogi Babu receives a cricket bat from Mahendra Singh Dhoni; thanks the former Indian skipper in a video

Not many know that Yogi Babu, who is part of several hit Tamil films, is an avid cricket player. He often takes to his Twitter page to post videos of him batting on the ground during schedule breaks. Recently, Thalapathy Vijay gifted him a cricket bat and he expressed his gratitude towards the Varisu star.

Now, none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni has gifted the popular comedian a cricket bat. Interestingly, it is the same bat which the former Indian skipper used to practice in the nets. An emotional Babu posted a video to thank Dhoni with him holding the bat in his hands.        

He also tweeted that he has always cherished the memories of watching Dhoni performing on ground and thanked him for providing an opportunity in the cricketer's debut production venture. For the unversed, the former cricket player had announced his foray into film production with the Tamil movie titled Let's Get Married a while ago.

Directed by Ramesh Thamilmani, the movie which stars Harish Kalyan and Ivana in lead roles, has Yogi in a pivotal role. Its shooting kicked off recently and is billed as a travel-based rom-com. In another tweet, Yogi posted a picture of the bat Dhoni gifted him which has the latter's autograph which reads 'Best wishes Yogi Babu'. 

The actor, who had three releases in 2023 - Varisu, Bommai Nayagi and The Great Indian Kitchen - currently has almost two dozen projects in his kitty. Rajinikanth's Jailer and Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran are two of the big ticket flicks he has among the line up he enjoys.
