After a youngster had recently stated that he was blackmailed by the team of Yessma to act in a web series, an actress recently filed a complaint against director Lakshmi Deeptha and the OTT platform for allegedly tricking her to be part of an adult web series.

The woman, who is based in Malappuram, had lodged a complaint against Lakshmi and the Malayalam adult platform with the Thiruvananthapuram cyber cell. The actress said that the she got a call from the team to act as the female lead in a serial. “I was excited when I got the offer,” she told Mathrubhumi, adding that by the time she realised she was tricked, she had already signed the contract.

When the actress said told the team she was not comfortable doing the intimate scenes as demanded by the director, Lakshmi had apparently asked her to pay Rs 7 lakh to quit the show. The actress, who claimed she had studied only till Class 1 and said she didn’t know too much about how the entertainment field worked, said that multiple complaints have been filed against the director but no action has been taken till now.

Earlier, the youngster, who had also alleged that the director had blackmailed him using the contract to act in an adult film, also claimed that the police was not taking any action against the director as she had strong political ties.

Yeesma, which is touted to be the first Malayalam OTT platform to streaming adult content, was launched in August. The platform has already dropped five web series including Nancy, Paalpayasam, Selinte Tuition Class, Ladies Hostel and most recently, Room No. 222. Considering the number of complaints of sexual harassment lodged against the makers of the series, Aryanandha Creations, and the OTT platform, it’s future seems to be uncertain.
