Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein Season 2: Netflix announces the sequel to Shweta Tripathi-Tahir Raj Bhasin's drama

After receiving a great response for Season 1 of the series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, starring Shweta Tripathi and Tahir Raj Bhasin, the makers of the thriller series have decided to return with a new season. The series on Netflix has been winning the hearts of the audience with its genre-bending storyline, packed with a twisted tale of love, power and revenge. The show is also being praised for its performances and soundtrack. 

And now, fan-favourite characters Vikrant (Tahir Raj Bhasin), Purva (Anchal Singh), Shikha (Shweta Tripathi), Akheraj (Saurabh Shukla) and Golden (Anantvijay Joshi) along with the other characters are set to return to action with Season 2 of the show. Fans can expect to find answers to the many plot twists in the series.  

The announcement was also made by the lead actor Tahir. He took to social media to share the good news. Sharing a poster, he wrote: "Uss din Khabar aayi ki Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein ka naya season aa raha hai aur hum khushi se kood pade. Sorry, just practicing Vikrant’s voiceovers again because a New Season is happening!!!!"

Season 1 of the Netflix show has ranked #6 in the global Top 10 for TV and has been on the Top 10 row in 11 countries including Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, and more apart from being consistently featured on the Top 10 row in India. 

Commenting on the success of season 1, the creator, producer, writer and director, Sidharth Sengupta said that the series is extremely close to his heart and it is humbling to see the global audience loving it. He expressed gratitude towards the entire team for their hard work and efforts to make the show. He also thanked his co-writers Anahata Menon and Varun Badola for carving out the intriguing plot and the multilayered characters and the ensemble cast for their powerful performances. In his statement, he further said, "I am grateful to have collaborated with Netflix to bring out such an engaging story and it is overwhelming to know that such a vast audience not only in India but also across the world have enjoyed and appreciated the show.
