Filled with an intriguing narrative, evocative dialogues and suspense simmering throughout, Amazon miniTV’s latest short film, Yatri Kripya Dhyan De has been heaping praises. The 16-minute suspense thriller directed by Abhinav Singh, stars Shaheer Sheikh and Shweta Basu Prasad.
Commenting on the success of the short film, director Abhinav Singh said that he is overwhelmed with all the love and appreciation the team has been receiving for the film. "I have always tried to narrate stories with a different lens through my short films and made sure that viewers must be engaged and entertained. It is important to reel the audience in right from the first scene and that’s exactly what I’ve done with Yatri Kripya Dhyan De," he said and expressed his gratitude towards the OTT platform to help get a wide audience for the film.
The actors too expressed their joy for all the positive responses from the audience. Shaheer Sheikh said that he is happy that his first short film is receiving a tremendous response. "It’s a well-written and nicely executed short film. Now more than ever, audiences are receptive to new, exciting content and the idea is to continue pushing myself to do new challenging characters,” he said.
Shweta too said that she thoroughly enjoyed working on Yatri Kripya Dhyan De and is overjoyed to see the kind of response and success the film is getting. Many reviews have called her the ‘scene-stealer’ and she says those two words mean everything to her. "I had to give Nandita my all for I needed to be emotive, mysterious to make this thriller gripping. Be it the intelligent and quirky writing, performances, efficient direction, and beautiful scenes, viewers have loved each and every aspect of what we’ve presented, which is so rare, yet great, to see,” she added.
Yatri Kripya Dhyan De is the story of Sumit (Shaheer Sheikh), a charming man in his 30’s, who is driving home in his new car. He meets Nandita (Shweta Basu Prasad), a hitchhiker on the way and offers her a lift. The two get talking and Nandita tells him the story about her haunted house. Replete with twists and turns, what unfolds is a series of horrific and surprising events.
