Yatra was a milestone film in director Mahi V Raghav's career. The political drama was a biopic on the late AP CM, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, and was a big hit at the box office. Well, as the election season is getting heated up in Telugu states, the makers announced the sequel and the shoot is also going on at a brisk pace. The news now is that a popular Hindi actor has joined the cast of the film.
We have come to know that none other than Mahesh Manjrekar has been roped in to play a key role in the film. He will be seen reprising the powerful role of TDP chief Nara Chandra Babu Naidu in Yatra 2.
This is a superb selection by the makers as Mahesh Manjrekar is a terrific actor and will do full justice to the role of Chandra Babu. Yatra 2 is about how the current AP CM, YS Jagan rose after his father's death, went to jail, came back, and formed a government on his own.
So, the role of Chandra Babu who was the first CM after the state of AP was divided is quite keen to the film. There was news that a Telugu actor would portray this role but the makers have chosen Mahesh Manjrekar for the part.
Mahi V Raghav is making this film on a massive budget and has roped in some seasoned stars to play key roles in this film. Tamil actor Jeeva has been cast to play YS Jagan in this film and his look from the film has already gone viral.
The shoot is going at a rapid pace and the makers are planning some unique promotions during the time of release. The biopic is jointly produced by V Celluloid and the Three Autumn Leaves banner. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
