Yatra 2: First poster, release date, crew of Mahi V Raghav’s biopic on AP CM Jagan out

Mahi V Raghav, who has been in the news for his web shows - Save The Tigers, Shaitan - that have resonated with viewers on OTT, has multiple releases in the coming months. Sidda Lokam Ela Undhi Nayana is his immediate release, a social satire on the lines of Peepli Live. While he’s wrapped up the shoot of the film already, he’s moved on to Yatra 2, the biopic of AP CM Jagan.

Yatra 2 is the sequel to the director’s political drama Yatra. The latter focused on late politician YS Rajashekhar’s career-changing padayatra that helped him win the elections and emerge the CM of Andhra Pradesh in the 2000s. Now, Yatra 2 will turn the spotlight on current AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political journey post the death of YSR till 2019. Jeeva plays the lead role in the film.

A new poster of Yatra 2 was unveiled yesterday, where the tentative release date and the crew of the film were announced. “Step into the shoes of a torchbearer as we bring his extraordinary journey to life! #Yatra2 in cinemas from Feb 2024,” the makers shared. The sequel will release in theatres exactly five years after the first part, that was out in February 2019.

Shiva Meka of V Celluloid, a subsidiary division of UV Creations and Three Autumn Leaves (Mahi V Raghav’s banner) are bankrolling the film.The Telugu lines in the first poster of Yatra 2, bearing the image of a politician waving his hand, along with his footmarks, loosely translate to ‘the world may not know me yet..but remember one thing..I am the son of YS Rajashekhar Reddy.’

Noted cinematographer Madhie has come on board as the cinematographer while Santosh Narayanan will compose the music score for the same. Selva Kumar is the art director. Other cast and shoot details around the film will be shared shortly.
