Kannada superstar Yash is keeping all his fans across the country guessing about his next project. After doing about 17 movies in Kannada, including KGF: Chapter, Yash became a household name across India with the humongous success of KGF: Chapter 2. The movie became the biggest earner in the history of Kannada cinema by raking in more than Rs 1000 crore from its worldwide ticket sales. Even a year after scoring the biggest hit of his career, Yash is yet to officially announce his next project.
"I have not wasted a single second," Yash told the media earlier when he was asked about the delay in confirming his next movie.
What is Yash's next project?
Speculations are now rife that Yash will be essaying the role of Ravana in the big-screen adaptation of Ramayana. According to reports, director Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal fame seems to be putting together a mythological epic and he is said to be roping in talents from across the Indian film industry.
As per reports, Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor has been approached to play the role of Rama in the epic movie, and Sai Pallavi has been offered the role of Sita. And Yash was offered Ravana. An official confirmation on the same is awaited.
The reports about seeing Yash breathing life into the role of mighty Ravana, the main antagonist of Ramayana, have garnered mixed reactions from fans. Many are wondering whether Yash will agree to play such a complex role, which could challenge his carefully built larger-than-life onscreen persona.
However, it seems Yash may not be completely averse to the idea of doing a full-fledged negative role. Earlier talking at a media event, Yash had drawn parallels between his character Rocky from the KGF series and Ravana from Ramayana.
"If you see Ravana's character, there are so many good qualities. But, there are bad qualities as well. So the blend is beauty. So the grey character is what I call him (Rocky)," Yash had said earlier.
