Fans of Rocking Star Yash’s KGF saga have been waiting patiently for the release of its second part, KGF: Chapter 2 and understand Rocky Bhai’s evolution from assassin to saviour. It’s been a long and excruciating wait of well over three years, delayed in part due to the pandemic. Reports suggest that the film was first scheduled to release in October 2020, then July 2021, but finally settled on April 2022. The film is releasing simultaneously in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, not only across the country, but abroad as well.

Hombale Films, the makers of KGF, had earlier announced that the film would release in the USA on April 13, to coincide with its April 14 release in India (owing to the time zone difference). Today, they added that KGF: Chapter will release in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea, Singapore, GCC countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Malaysia, as well as several locations across Europe and Africa. In fact, the production house’s Europe distribution partner is looking at releasing it in all the five languages. “‘Powerful People (@4SeasonsCreati1) Make Places(#Europe) Powerful’. We are happy to announce that we will be releasing #KGF2 South Languages (#Kannada #Telugu #Tamil #Malayalam), tweeted 4 Seasons Creations.

Directed by Prashant Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 concludes the story of Rocky Bhai in the Kolar Gold Fields. The film, which has music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda, boasts an ensemble cast including names like Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash, Srinidhi Shetty, among others.

The film is being presented in North-Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films and Cinestaan Film Company will handle its overseas distribution in Hindi.

The trailer of the much-awaited sequel is set to release today, March 27, at a star-studded event hosted by popular Bollywood filmmaker and TV host, Karan Johar, at 6.40 pm.
