#Yash19: Mrunal Thakur, Samyuktha Menon, Srinidhi Shetty, Shraddha Kapoor – who will romance the Rocking Star?

As far as fans of Rocking Star Yash are concerned, it is a done deal that the KGF star’s next is with Malayalam filmmaker Geethu Mohandas, which will be bankrolled by KVN Productions. There is still debate about the possible genre – Geethu has in the past spoken about doing a gangster tale from a female perspective, while some reports point to a period drama revolving around the drug trade in Goa. An official announcement is expected sometime soon, with all eyes now on Ganesha Chaturthi for final word on the film. In the meantime, netizens have begun speculating about the rest of the star cast.

For starters, it’s the leading lady for which a lot of interesting names are popping up. Sometime last year, it was heard that Pooja Hegde could be making her Kannada film debut with #Yash19. But more recently, Sita Ramam’s Mrunal Thakur, Samyuktha Menon, Samantha and Malavika Mohan were also heard as possibilities, as netizens figured that Geethu had begun following them on social media. Netizens, though, are hopeful that the makers will either pick a Bollywood heroine like Shraddha Kapoor, Kiara Advani or stay local with Srinidhi Shetty or current Karnataka’s crush Rukmini Vasanth, even. Some even hoped that the makers will choose a newbie, just like Srinidhi rose to fame with KGF. A few even thought that #Yash19 could be the perfect comeback vehicle for ‘attige’ Radhika Pandit. The Rocking couple were last seen together onscreen in Santhu Straight Forward, following which Radhika has been concentrating on her family and their kids Ayra and Yatharv.

As for the antagonist, Malayalam actor Tovino continues to be the frontrunner, with Asif Ali also now joining this list, along with Rana Daggubati and John Abraham. Tovino apparently began following Yash on social media only in late August this year, which is, yet again, seen as a possible clue that the duo will be collaborating onscreen shortly. The film will reportedly have action by JJ Perry. As vital as the cast is, the technical crew is also important and all eyes are on who will be chosen for the music and cinematography.
