Yami Gautam was recently seen delivering an impressive performance in Article 370. The film, backed by her husband Aditya Dhar received a good response from the audience as well as critics. The actress also announced her pregnancy during the trailer launch of the film. Now, in a recent interview, the actress opened up about starring in Dhar's upcoming project Dhoom Dhaam as a protagonist.

Yami Gautam, who collaborated with Aditya Dhar for the first time in the film URI, starring Vicky Kaushal is also serving as a producer for the film, Dhoom Dhaam. In an interview with News18, the actress opened up about how she does not expect her husband to cast her in every project he works on. However, she also said that she wished to play the protagonist in this upcoming film which is played by a male actor. She said, "As much as I would love to, there’s no expectation that Aditya will cast me in all of his directorials."
Yami said that when she read the script of her husband's upcoming project, she wished that she was a male. "The script is so brilliant. It’s such an amazing world. Regardless of that, I don’t have that expectation," she said.
The Article 370 actress also opened up about how the husband and wife are in the competitive field and they have an understanding about it since the beginning. "There’s this trust that we’ve in each other as individuals and professionals. He’s the same person who cast me in Uri and gave me Article 370 and Dhoom Dhaam," she said.
The actress further stated that if her filmmaker husband feels that someone else can do the part better than her in a film that he is writing then she is completely fine with it. "We respect that professional line. I don’t think that the line between professional and personal life should be blurred. We’re very clear about it," Yami added.

Being in the film industry, which is termed as one of the most competitive fields, if a husband and wife are in the same profession and understand each other's perspective for work, that just makes the relationship stronger.
