Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Lost will be dropped on Zee5 on February 17. Along with the director, Yami Gautam came to Kolkata for a special screening of the film at a theatre. Along with the actress, Lost also features Pankaj Kapur, Neil Bhoopalam, Pia Bajpiee, Tushar Pandey, and others. The actress, evidently, is impressed with the sweets and bakeries in the city. In a chat with OTTplay, she talked about how she enjoyed Kolkata while shooting and what made her say yes to the film.
Talking about Kolkata, she said that the city has always treated her with love and nolen gur. In fact, on the day of media interactions, she went to an iconic breakfast joint and gorged on cakes and sweets. “That’s how my relationship is with Kolkata. Even during the time we were shooting Lost, Tonyda (Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury) and Indranidi pampered me with food,” she said. The actress also pointed out that there are important food joints on almost every street in the city. “We were shooting all over the city. We explored the food and beverages as much as we could,” she said.
Talking about accepting the film, Yami pointed out that it was also because of Aniruddha, she accepted the offer. “I accepted the film because of the script. I love the way it is written, the authenticity, and the unpretentiousness. It was not forced to say something that it was saying. What the script needs to say is saying it loud but it happens in a very organic way,” she said.
Yami also admitted that it was Aniruddha for whom she said yes to the film. Talking about her experience of working with the director, the actress said, “He knows how to read your mind when you are his actor. He manages to capture your soul in his films and I don’t see how he does that,” she said.
