Actress Yami Gautam took to her social media on Tuesday and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for mentioning her upcoming film Article 370 in one of his speeches.

During a recent rally in Jammu, PM Modi spoke about Article 370 and said that the movie would give correct information to the viewers. PM Modi further said, “I don’t know how the film is, I just heard about it yesterday. It is good that the people will now get correct information from this.” Yami shared this video on her social media and wrote, “It is an absolute honour to watch PM @narendramodi Ji talk about #Article370Movie. My team and I really hope that we all exceed your expectations in bringing this incredible story to the screen!”

During an interview with PTI, Yami said that a section of people goes into theatres already thinking or carrying a preconceived notion about the film being propaganda, those people will never be able to feel or enjoy the film. “There is no point justifying the film to them. I don’t think the audience thinks about these things. This film is for the majority of the audience, and we make films for the audience,” she said.

The tickets for the film on the release day (February 23) will cost Rs 99. Sharing the news on her social media, Yami wrote, “A remarkable release day offer for a riveting narrative! Get your ticket at Rs. 99 on cinema lovers day. #Article370 releasing in cinemas on 23rd February.”

Starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani, the film is produced by Aditya Dhar and directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale.

Yami on embracing motherhood

During the trailer launch of Article 370, Yami revealed that she is expecting her first child with filmmaker and husband Aditya Dhar. Speaking about motherhood, Yami told News18, “It feels really good and so empowering. Motherhood gives you a different kind of confidence and power. I’ve been working and have been independent all my life and all those things are there. But I suddenly feel so special. Something has changed in me and that change is for good. I feel like I’ve developed a different perspective towards things."

Yami tied the knot with Aditya in June 2021 in an intimate, traditional wedding ceremony.
