Yamakaathaghi release date: Tamil supernatural mystery thriller film to hit theatres soon

We had earlier reported that a Tamil film titled Yamakaathaghi is in the making, starring a bunch of new faces. The makers on Saturday announced that the film is set to hit theatres on March 7. The film is touted to be a supernatural mystery thriller.

Yamakaathaghi release date out

Yamakaathaghi is an upcoming Tamil film helmed by debutant director Peppin George Jayaseelan. The film is set against the backdrop of a home that houses the funeral of a young woman. However, with the spirit not intending to leave the house, the film questions the mystery around it.

The supernatural thriller is now all set to hit big screens. The film will release on March 7 in theatres. In an earlier conversation with OTTplay, Peppin said about the film, ““We have set against the backdrop of a village, and presented in a rooted way. There are combinations of genres, and the challenge for us was to make it a singular and coherent experience for the audience.”

Cast and crew of Yamakaathaghi

The film was shot in a Thanjavur village, with cinematography by Sujith Sarang, with Sreejith Sarang handling the editing and coloring. Actors Roopa Koduvayur, Geetha Kailasam, Narendra Prasath, and others are part of the cast. Yamakaathagi has music by Jecin George. Produced by Srinivasarao Jalakam, and co-produced by Ganapathi Reddy.

The first look poster of the film was released earlier, which shows a woman dressed in a saree and decked up in a traditional way. It will be interesting to see what kind of film would Yamakaathaghi be, given it is set against the backdrop of a bereaving family and is a supernatural mystery thriller film.

Other Tamil films which are scheduled to hit in March first week include Kingston, Gentlewoman, Aalambana and Address.
