Yaariyan 2’s romantic track: Anaswara Rajan shares the release date of the song

Actress Anaswara Rajan, who is known for her stellar performance in Super Sharanya, is poised to make her Bollywood debut with the remake of the Malayalam hit Bangalore Days. The film, titled Yaariyan 2, is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.

Sung by Arijit Singh, a romantic track from the film is set to release on September 18 (at 11 am).

Anaswara took to her social media page to share the release date of the song with a poster of the film, which showcases her and Meezaan Jafri in a romantic pose. Yaariyan 2 is a sequel to Yaariyan - starring Divya Khosla Kumar, Yash Dasgupta, Warina Hussain, Priya Praksh Warrier and Pearl Puri.

Yaariyan 2 - a remake of Bangalore Days

The story of Yaariyan 2 is inspired by Anjali Menon’s 2014 coming-of-age romantic dramedy Bangalore Days - starring Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim, Parvathy T and Nivin Pauly. The movie was a huge commercial success, which received critical acclaim across the country. The plot follows the close relationship between three cousins and the events that occur in their lives after one of them gets married. In Yaariyan 2, Divya and Yash take on the roles of the married couple, which were played by Fahadh and Nazriya in Bangalore Days.

Legal action against Yaariyan 2

Recently, a sacrilege case was registered against the makers of the film for hurting Sikh sentiments. Complaints were made against Meezaan, the directors and producer Bhushan Kumar for the inappropriate use of the ‘Kirpan’ (a religious symbol of the Sikhs) in a song of the film.

When will Yaariyan 2 be released?

Yaariyan 2 is scheduled to be released on October 20, but the OTT release date has not yet been finalised yet. The OTT rights of the film have been obtained by JioCinema.

Anaswara Rajan’s upcoming projects

The upcoming sequel to 7G Rainbow Colony, directed by Selvaraghavan, will have Anaswara as the female lead . The film - which also stars Ravi Krishna, who played the lead in the prequel - is scheduled to begin shooting later this month. Besides this, Anaswara will appear in the Jayaram-starrer Abraham Ozler, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas. Additionally, she will star alongside Indrajith Sukumaran in Deepu Karunakaran’s upcoming film.
