In 2014, Divya Khosla Kumar debuted as a director with the coming-of-age romance film Yaariyan Himansh Kohli, Rakul Preet Singh, and Nicole Faria, the film delves into college romance and friendship. Now, a sequel of the film is all set to release with Divya featuring in the lead, along with Yash Dasgupta. Billed as a romantic film, it is directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao.
On Wednesday, the makers announced the release date of the film. Produced by T-Series, Yaariyan 2 will hit the theatres on May 12, 2023. The first leg of the shooting was completed in June in North India. The second leg of the shooting took place in Mumbai. The film also features Jaaved Jaffery’s son Meezan Jafri, Pearl V Puri, Lillete Dubey, and others.
This will be Yash’s debut in Bollywood. Earlier, the actor started his career with a number of national television shows, including Bandini and Basera. Ever since the actor worked in multiple Hindi TV shows before stepping into the Bengali entertainment industry in 2013 with Bojhena She Bojhena. Later, the actor debuted in the Tollywood film with Birsa Dasgupta’s Gangster in 2016.
Yash was last seen in Shieladitya Moulik’s Cheene Baadaam with Ena Saha. In the film, the actor plays the character of a foreign-return techie who creates an app that brings people together. The film failed to impress the box office and the actor also had a tiff with the makers – Shieladitya and Ena. Meanwhile, his next Bengali film with Nusrat Jahan with the same production house has been stalled. Yash recently celebrated his birthday with friends and partner, Nusrat.
