Yaanai release date: When and where to watch Hari's Arun Vijay-starrer action drama online

Yaanai, Arun Vijay's first theatrical release in the pandemic era, was released on July 1 after getting postponed a couple of times. The movie directed by Hari is now set for its OTT premiere. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead in the film which has an ensemble cast.

Radhika Sarathkumar, Samuthirakani, Gangai Amaren, Yogi Babu, Ammu Abhirami and KGF Ram among others essay crucial characters in the project which is a family action drama. GV Prakash has composed music for Yaanai which was released in Telugu under the title Enugu.

The film will drop on Zee5 on August 19. Though it was confirmed by makers last year that the leading digital platform has acquired its OTT rights, movie buffs have been waiting for an announcement regarding its digital premiere. Interestingly, another project of Arun Vijay, Tamilrockerz, too, is dropping online on the same day.  

Though the actor's first outing this year was Oh My Dog which also had his son Arnav and father Vijayakumar sharing screen presence with him, it skipped theatres and was directly released on Amazon Prime Video. Karthick Naren's Mafia, which hit the screens a few weeks before the first lockdown, was his last theatrical release before Yaanai.

An elated Arun took to Twitter to inform that the Hari directorial is releasing on OTT on August 19. He tweeted, "Extremely elated to announce the world digital premiere of #Yaanai. The movie is premiering on the 19th of August exclusively on ZEE5 #Yaanai premieres Aug 19th only on ZEE5 App (sic)."

The actor currently has Sinam, Borrder and Agni Siragugal in his kitty. Meanwhile, his long-delayed actioner Vaa Deal, which was wrapped up a few years ago, is yet to see the light of the day.
