Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is poised to illuminate the opening ceremony of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024, scheduled to take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, February 23. Renowned as the King of Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan joins a constellation of stars including Tiger Shroff, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan, and Sidharth Malhotra, all set to grace the star-studded event with their performances. Prior to the ceremony, several videos capturing Shah Rukh's rehearsal sessions have gone viral online. In a heartwarming gesture, Shah Rukh also took a break from rehearsals to meet with women cricketers.
Multiple fan pages of Shah Rukh Khan on microblogging site X show him practicing hard for his upcoming dance performance. In one of the videos, King Khan can be seen dancing to the hook steps of Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya – a popular song from Jawan. In another video, SRK can be seen meeting and greeting women cricketers. Furthermore, Delhi Capitals skipper, Meg Lanning and Shah Rukh Khan were seen having a fun moment ahead of the tournament. The two were seen making the iconic SRK pose together.
One more video showed Bollywood biggie greeting Indian cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur with a warm hug and smile.

The Women's Premier League is a prestigious women's Twenty20 cricket franchise league in India, owned and managed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Its inaugural season took place in March 2023, culminating in the Mumbai Indians clinching the championship title. In the upcoming 2024 season, the Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will commence the tournament with an exciting clash against the Delhi Capitals, captained by Meg Lanning.
The second season of the Women's Premier League will get underway on Friday (February 23) and will end on March 17.
