Wonderful World Episode 1 Story

Kim Nam-joo-starrer Wonderful World narrates the story of best-selling writer and professor Eun Soo-hyun, who takes the law into her own hands after the murderer of her son escapes justice. Episode 1 begins with Eun Soo-hyun (Kim Nam-joo) walking during the night, when suddenly a young man, Kwon Sun-yool (Cha Eun-Woo), charges towards her at full speed. The drama then shifts to the past, showing how a perfect day turned into a disaster for Soo-hyun.

The story dates back to a summer day when Soo-hyun was going on a book tour after winning the esteemed Rosaline Literary Award for her work. Her 6-year-old son and a loving husband make up her happy life. She also narrates that her child was a miracle baby who was born after four previous miscarriages.

The road accident case, in which the kid dies, becomes the talk of the town because of Soo-hyun's popularity and the negligence of the perpetrator. Despite being a clear case of accident, the court found the criminal not guilty, shattering the victim’s family. The ending then shows us another side of Soo-hyun, who drives the car towards him at full speed, just the way he took her son’s life.

Wonderful World Review

Disney+Hotstar seems to be competing with itself. After The Impossible Heir, the streaming giant is back with another highly anticipated K-drama - Wonderful World.  The first episode of Wonderful World premiered on March 1 and is already shining with a rise in viewership because of the stellar performances by Kim Nam-joo and Cha Eun-woo in lead roles.

Episode 1 of Wonderful World follows the “told in flashback” narrative as the story begins with a mysterious present and then goes back in time to the tragic accident that not only ruins a mother’s life but rocks her entire world, including the whole grieving family. With the well-paced narrative and the impeccable acting of each character, be it the mother, father, grandmother, or other supporting character revolving around the child, you feel a deep connection with the fictional storyline.

The layered story that switches from past to present, without losing the key focus is what adds to the captivating drama. Wonderful World is not just a usual revenge drama; it also draws attention to the justice systems that sometimes fail humanity under the pretext of a lack of evidence.

Wonderful World Verdict

The K-drama, Wonderful World, takes you to the harsh reality of the insensitive people living in this universe. From execution to acting chops, the entire episode was a perfect blend of various themes, which will provide a compelling watch in the coming weeks. Stream it not only for the top-notch cast but also for the narrative.
