The highly-anticipated superhero thriller Wonder Woman 1984 will have its exclusive digital launch on Amazon Prime Video on May 15, entering the enthralling list of superhero films available on Amazon Prime Video. The film will be available in four languages - English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu - for Indian audiences.
It is Warner Bros. Pictures' follow-up to the DC Superhero's first outing of the record-breaking 'Wonder Woman,' with director Patty Jenkins returning to helm the project, and Gal Gadot returning in the title role. The action-packed title is the ninth entry in the DC Universe and is set against the background of the Cold War in 1984.
When Wonder Woman 1984 released last year, it received a mixed audience and critics’ reaction.
Wonder Woman is an Atlas Entertainment and Stone Quarry Production, owned by Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot, and Stephen Jones. It is presented by Warner Bros. Pictures.
To say the least, the number of Gal Gadot’s films coming out in the next few years is mind-boggling. Aside from her upcoming DC films, where she plays Wonder Woman, the actress is set to appear in a couple of big-budget Netflix thrillers. The actress will be seen in the adaptation of one of Agatha Christie's novels and an already controversial biographical drama. Some of her upcoming films are Red Notice (2021), Death on the Nile (2022), Irena Slender, Hedy Lamarr and Cleopetra.
As for Patty Jenkins, her upcoming film Rogue Squadron is slated for 2023 release.
