Witness trailer: Shraddha Srinath, Rohini Molleti in a hard-hitting drama on manual scavenging deaths

Shraddha Srinath is returning to Tamil cinema almost a year and half after her action thriller Chakra, alongside Vishal, had hit theatres. Much like her hit Nerkonda Paarvai, she'll be seen in another important film around a social issue that merits a discussion. The film titled Witness is directed and filmed by Vivek and has her co-starring Rohini Molleti. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, the drama is all set to premiere directly via the popular OTT platform SonyLIV.

Witness is a story revolving around manual scavenging deaths that almost go unnoticed in society. When a teenager falls prey to it within a gated community, there's an attempt to silence voices or debates and brush the issue under the carpet. However, the victim's mother is committed to seek justice, bring the culprits to court, regardless of what the verdict is. An urban architect stands by her side through the case and asks the right questions to those concerned.

Subatra Robert, Shanmuga Raja, Azhagam Perumal, G Selva, Rajeev Anand, Tamilarasan and Srinath form the supporting cast of the film. Co-produced by Vivek Kuchibhotla, the film has screenplay by Muthuvel and JP Sanakya and music by Ramesh Thamilmani. Philomin Raj is the editor of the drama which has lyrics by Kabilan. Sathish and Vivek Anandan handle art direction and sound design respectively. 

The drama will release on SonyLIV on December 9 across four languages - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. People Media Factory was behind several hits like Goodachari, Oh Baby, Karthikeya 2 and is also bankrolling Ravi Teja's upcoming film Dhamaka.
