In the run-up to the release of Love Mocktail 2, actor-director Darling Krishna was very guarded with information regarding the film. He released only lyrical videos of the songs and the trailer also revealed bare minimal information. He did not even send out movie stills to the media as part of the promotions, as he wanted to keep the mystery alive of what the sequel is all about for as long as possible.
Now that the film has completed its theatrical run and has been streaming on Amazon Prime Video for about a week, the actor-director can finally release the full video songs from his film. Earlier today, one of the most important songs from the film, O Nidhima was released. Composed and sung by Nakul Abhyankar, who is joined by Rakshita Suresh on vocals, the song written by Raghavendra Kamath, features Krishna, Milana Nagaraj and debutante Rachel David.
Love Mocktail 2 picks up two years after the events of the original, where Aadi loses Nidhima to cancer. The sequel explores whether time can indeed heal and if Aadi would be ready to find love again. Rachel’s Sihi is the new ‘love interest’. But considering that Nidhima was well and truly Aadi’s soulmate, can he really get over her and begin afresh?
This is where the song comes in, at a pivotal point in the narrative that explains that Aadi is not only not over Nidhima, but also ‘sees’ her. In his depressed state of mind, he begins to hallucinate and have visions of her, which provides him intense solace.
