Will Vijay Deverakonda replace Allu Arjun for Sukumar's Arya 3?

If Gangotri was the film that formally launched Allu Arjun as an actor, it was Arya, directed by Sukumar, that made him a star. The actor and director reunited for the film's sequel Arya 2 too, which however didn't fare well at the theatres, though it attained cult audiences among audiences later. Meanwhile, Sukumar had recently confirmed that Arya 3 will also happen in the near future, leaving the fans of the director and Allu Arjun excited. In an interesting twist, reports suggest that Vijay Deverakonda may play the lead role in Arya 3 in place of Allu Arjun.

It's already well known that Sukumar will be collaborating with Vijay Deverakonda for a film to be bankrolled by Falcon Creations. Apparently, this project may have the actor-director work on the third instalment of Arya. Sukumar has expressed his interest to continue the Arya franchise, though there's no official word about the lead actor yet. At the time of the Sukumar-Vijay Deverakonda's project announcement, the Arjun Reddy star wrote, "The actor in me is super excited. The audience in me is celebrating! We guarantee you memorable Cinema.. I can't wait to be on set with Sukku sirrr."

How will Allu Arjun fans react to this development? Although there may be a sense of disappointment, if the news proves true, it's exciting to see what Vijay Deverakonda manages to do in the world of Arya. More details about this are awaited. Sukumar is currently occupied with the two-part action franchise Pushpa with Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, while Vijay is awaiting the release of his pan-Indian boxing drama Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh. Vijay was in the news recently for starting his multiplex in his hometown Mahbubnagar.
