Will there be a Samantar season 3? Swwapnil Joshi clarifies

A month after Samantar 2 released on MX Player, Swwapnil Joshi came forward to talk about the show on social media. The actor read a few Twitter reactions to his latest release and was overwhelmed, to say the least.

While talking to a netizen, Swwapnil hinted there could be a season 3 of the show. “Like Chakrapani would say, live one day at a time. So… I’d love to tell you if there is a season 3. Never say never. I think we’ll have to wait for Chakrapani’s diary to open another page for us,” the actor said.

One user praised his chemistry with Tejaswini Pandit, who plays the role of Kumar Mahajan (Swwapnil)’s wife Nirma Mahajan in the series. She had quite a powerful role in the second season and at times, even overshadowed Swwapnil.

While reading the comment, Swwapnil also mentioned, “Teju (Tejaswini) and I are good friends off-screen,” which according to the actor, worked well for the show.

After watching Samantar, many have tagged the show as a ‘milestone in Marathi industry.’ The actor concurred with them and expressed his happiness to be part of the project.

Nitish Bhardwaj, who played the role of Sudarshan Chakrapani on the show, is unlikely to return. In Samantar season 2, he revealed that he finally found peace and could leave the place he was bound by, thanks to Kumar Mahajan. It is, however, unclear whether Chakrapani found peace and is no longer in the same world as Kumar Mahajan.

Samantar is a show where Kumar, Sudarshan as well as Nirma’s fate met with an end. It seems unlikely that the show will return for a new season, but like Swwapnil said, ‘Never say never.’
