Will Mimi Chakraborty feature in Indraadip Das Gupta’s Next?

We have already reported that music composer and director Indraadip Dasgupta is all set to direct his new film, Megh Peon. Billed as a homage to eminent filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh, the film features Kaushik Ganguly as one of the key characters. This will be Indraadip’s yet another film that features Kaushik Ganguly after Kedara, Bismillah, and Uttwaron. Meanwhile, according to a report by Anandabazar Online, the film may feature Mimi Chakraborty in the lead. 

Initially, Subhasree Ganguly, who worked with Indraadip in Bismillah, was scheduled to work in this film also. But Subhashree is expecting her second child after Yuvaan. She wants to take a break and give time to her family. She withdrew herself from the film. She was also supposed to act in Srijit Mukherji’s Dawshom Awbotaar. Later, Jaya Ahsan replaced her. 

If Subhasree does not work in Indraadip's film, who will play the role? According to sources, Mimi Chakraborty got the offer. Mimi is right now busy with the shooting of a web series where she is working with Tota Roy Choudhury. Nothing is confirmed yet about whether Mimi will play the role. Neither Indraadip nor Mimi said anything about it. The film may go on the floors in October.
