Will Aamir Khan really do Ujjwal Nikam biopic? Here’s what director Avinash Arun says

Aamir Khan is currently in news for producing Rajkumar Santoshi’s next which stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. Apart from that, he is yet to confirm his acting project. One news was that he is being considered for Ujjwal Nikam biopic. Aamir was reported to co-produce the project with Dinesh Vijan and also act in it. The director of the film, Avinash Arun, has now replied to the same.

What Avinash Arun said

The director told Indian Express that the film is at a very, very initial stage. It is almost just a thought. He did however confirm that the movie is at the discussion stage (thus in a way confirming that he has approached Aamir for the film). “I don’t know how that new came out because it truly is at a very initial discussion phase,” he said, while also sharing that nothing has materialized yet.

Who is Ujjwal Nikam?

Ujjwal Nikam is the public prosecutor who has fought some high-profile cases over the years. These include 1993 Bombay blasts, Gulshan Kumar murder case, Pramod Mahajan case, 2008 Mumbai attacks, 2013 Mumbai gang rape case and 2016 Kopardi rape and murder case. It was in 2016 itself that Ujjwal was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India.

Who is Avinash Arun?

Avinash Arun is best known for helming Paatal Lok. Apart from that, he has worked on School of Lies and Killa. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha. The film was the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. Laal Singh Chaddha, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh, released in December 2022. Aamir has taken a break from acting ever since. He has not made an official announcement on the movie front so far.
