Masti 4 was confirmed earlier this year, and the film which is originally Indra Kumar’s project, is now being helmed by Milap Zaveri. The writer-director got on-board the project because of Riteish Deshmukh, he revealed in a recent interview. However, there were some conditions before the film went on floors. Here’s everything Milap revealed about Masti 4…

Riteish Deshmukh the reason why Milap Zaveri is on board for Masti 4 instead of Indra Kumar

During his interview with Siddharth Kannan, Milap revealed that Indra Kumar could not go ahead with Masti 4 since the schedule clashed with Akshay Kumar’s Welcome To The Jungle. Milap took over because Riteish told Indra Kumar that if he cannot direct it, then he would do the film only if Milap comes on board as a director.

Milap Zaveri approached Riteish Deshmukh as Masti 4 writer

Milap had approached his good friend Riteish (they worked together in Zaveri’s debut film, Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai) for Masti 4 as a writer. “Literally meri god mein aaya,” Milap said about Masti 4, adding, “Imagine Indu ji trusting me so much to give one of his biggest franchises to me to direct.”

Riteish Deshmukh ensures Masti 4 is not vulgar

Riteish is working on Masti 4 on one condition – that it should not be vulgar. He made Milap promise that the film is fun, naughty, mad comedy like part 1. This is mainly because they have kids, who are also friends.

When asked if working on adult-comedies worked against him, Milap was certain it did. He recalled about Mastizaade being stuck in censors and failed too. Interestingly, Milap’s Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 (writer of the film), also released at the same time. Both the movies did not only become a big flop at the Box Office, but Milap was also bashed for trying.
