Suhani Bhatnagar played the role of young Babita Phogat in Aamir Khan’s Dangal

Aamir Khan’s Dangal co-star Suhani Bhatnagar passed away on Saturday, February 17. Aged 19, she was an aspiring actress and her role is limited to Aamir Khan’s Dangal. Suhani was receiving treatment in All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi. The cause of her death remains unknown. Here’s taking a look at what is know of Suhani’s life…
Early roots
Suhani is born and brought up in Faridabad, Haryana. She is a child actor who performed in various plays. She was seen in various advertisements and continued that journey for a while. On the movie front, Nitesh Tiwari’s 2016 film Dangal is her first and last movie.

About Dangal
Suhani was among the 11,000 girls who auditioned for the role of young Geeta and Babita Phogat. She ended up playing young Babita in the movie. Sanya Malhotra played the elder version of Babita in Dangal. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra chose her for her ‘purity’ and because of how much she resembled Sanya. He also believed that Suhani looked like Aamir Khan and Sakshi Tanwar, who played parents to Geeta and Babita in the movie. After the film’s release, Suhani received numerous praises for her performance and had hoped for the film’s success. Of course, Dangal was not just a big hit in India but outside of it too. The movie released in China, Japan and South Korea as well (with changes done to cater to needs of the audiences there).

Suhani’s demise
Suhani was receiving treatment in AIIMS, New Delhi. She was ill for quite some time but the reason behind her death remains unknown. Suhani suffered from a medication-related response and fluid accumulated in her body. She was being treated for the same. The actress breathed her last on February 17, when she was only 19 years old.
