Fans and critics have been raving about the Malayalam romantic comedy and the latest to join the bandwagon to heap praise on the film is none other than director SS Rajamouli. The director called the film "a laugh riot" and even named his favourite character. “So glad Karthikeya did #Premalu in Telugu. But my fav is Aadi...JK...Just Kidding.. (sic)”, the director wrote.

It is worth noting that the film’s Telugu distribution was taken by producer SS Karthikeya, the son of superstar director SS Rajamouli, who is its distributor in Telugu states.

Premalu hits the jackpot at the Telugu box office

The Malayalam film Premalu has hit the jackpot at the box office, as its four-week collection is over Rs 90 crore. The makers hope to capitalise on the movie's success by dubbing it in other South Indian languages.

With the film dubbed in its Tamil and Telugu releases following an extraordinary performance in Malayalam, the premiere held on Thursday in Hyderabad received a lot of positive responses, prompting multiplexes to increase the number of screens allotted to the film.

Since Premalu is set in Hyderabad, the makers were confident that it would strike a chord with Telugu audiences.
