Born on 4th April 1979, Heath Andrew Ledger, an Australian actor and music director, had begun his journey in the Australian television and film industry in the 1990s. He crossed seas to Hollywood in 1998 and would go on to attain fame and acclaim.
He has twenty films to his name, which earned him his much-deserved recognition - 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), The Patriot (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Monster's Ball (2001), Lords of Dogtown (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005), Candy (2006), I'm Not There (2007), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009). His role as the ‘Clown Prince of Crime’, the Joker, in Christopher Nolan’s critically acclaimed Batman film, The Dark Knight, earned him an Academy Award posthumously. He also received praise for the 2005 film, Brokeback Mountain, where he starred opposite Jake Gyllenhal.
Two other movies were released posthumously. He left for heavenly abodes on 22nd January 2008.
