Eminent comedian Jo Koy will be hosting the event with his humorous twists and among the main presenters are singer-songwriter Dua Lipa, actors Michelle Yeoh, Ben Affleck, and Oprah Winfrey, along with some others.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association presents the awards annually to honor the impeccable performances of the previous year. Who is hosting the Golden Globe Awards 2024?
The popular comedian Jo Koy is hosting the star-studded 81st Golden Globes Awards. This year will be his big gig as he becomes the second Asian to host the celebratory event after acting stalwart Sandra Oh. Here are five things that you need to know about the actor-comedian.
1) The 52-year-old standup comedian and actor has also served as a panelist for E!'s late-night show Chelsea Lately. Previously, when he was announced as the host in December, and shared his overwhelming response to serve as a key part in his ‘biggest stage’ event. On Sunday evening, the starry night will witness the magic of Koy’s humor and presentation as he is expected to deliver it perfectly.
2) Born Joseph Glenn Herbert, the half American and half Filippino – Coy is a half-Asian whose family immigrated and settled in Las Vegas when he was in school.
3) Koy narrated the story of his stage name during his stand-up routine in Phoenix, Arizona in 2019 which credited the name to his aunt and a mishearing incident.
4) His career dates back to 1994 at a comedy club in Las Vegas when he sharpened his impromptu scripts and acted in various open nights as well. He landed his first big gig in the television comedy series ‘BET's ComicView’. Later, he appeared in several comedy specials like Comedy Central’s ‘Lights Out’ and ‘Don’t Make Him Angry.’ He debuted on streaming giant Netflix in 2017 with ‘Jo Koy: Live from Seattle,’ followed by Jo Koy: Comin' In Hot (2019). The third installment ‘Jo Koy: In His Elements,’ was released in 2020.
5) Koy is a practitioner of martial arts form Brazilian jiu-jitsu and was previously married to Angie King, he also shares a son Joseph Herbert Jr.
On the professional work front, Jo Koy is gearing up for his comedy tour that is slated for Jan. 12 in St. Louis, Missouri, along with major stops in the US and Europe.
