When Vicky Kaushal was rejected for Katrina Kaif’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Bollywood is full of interesting tales and one of them just happens to be that Vicky Kaushal missed out on being a part of Katrina Kaif’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Back then, he was fresh out of Masaan fame. The movie starred Shah Rukh Khan as the male lead and Vicky was supposed to be a supporting character in the film.

Vicky might have played the role of Sharib Hashmi in the movie. According to a report on BollywoodLife, Vicky auditioned for the role but eventually, the makers went ahead with Sharib. The Family Man actor played the role of SRK’s friend in the movie.

Interestingly, Sharib and Vicky worked together in their recently released film, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Starring Vicky in the lead role with Sara Ali Khan, the film saw Sharib play a security guard.

Of course, now years later, Vicky and Katrina are married. Unfortunately though, they are yet to collaborate on a project as a couple.

For those who did not know, Katrina too wasn’t the first choice for the film. Jab Tak Hai Jaan was originally offered to Deepika Padukone. Since the Cocktail actress refused the movie, it landed it Katrina’s kitty.

Starring Anushka Sharma as the second female lead, Jab Tak Hai Jaan became an iconic film. It is the last movie ever directed by Yash Chopra.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan also introduced the world to Anushka and Katrina’s BFF bonding. They knew each other inside out, which was visible through their Koffee With Karan episode from 2016. We might have missed out on that if Deepika had signed the film, so we guess, all’s well that ends well.
