When The Phone Rings finally came to an end after an emotional rollercoaster of 12 episodes. The story of Chae Soo-bin's Hong Hee-joo and Yoo Yeon-seok's Paik Sa-eon literally has been the talk of the K-drama town and fans were head over heels for the on-screen couple. As the finale episode dropped and all the doubts were cleared, fans took to their X accounts and shared their reviews of the series.
Fans have been demanding season 2 of When The Phone Rings as soon as the finale episode was dropped. They became emotional as their favorite couple Chae Soo-bin's Hong Hee-joo and Yoo Yeon-seok's Paik Sa-eon finally reunited on a happy note.

Episode 12 shows Hong Hee-joo getting an international call with digit 604 which hints at Sa-eon being alive. Not only this but also she received a letter from Buiben International Sign Language for her contribution to the students who got voices for her. But she realizes that it must be her husband. Moments later, she sees that it is in Argan. With the help of Hyeok-jin, Hee-jo reaches Argan. Hyeok-jin also tells her he used to visit a spot where the sunset was visible.
When she reaches the school and learns that the contribution was made in her name and nobody visited in person, Hee-joo asks the principal of the school about the sunset spot. He tells her that it is Bestin Chapel but she can't get there as a was is going on. However, she goes and gets hijacked along with other people. In the meanwhile, Sa-eon whose face is covered with a mask, rescues them and takes Hee-joo to his car. Finally, the two meet and share a passionate kiss.
Hong Hee-joo asks him why he left her to which he says that murdered Sa-eon informed him that day that his father killed Hee-joo's brother. Out of guilt, he went and wanted to give himself a punishment. However, the couple reunites and they share an intimate moment. At the end, it is revealed that Sa-eon is Paik Yu-yeon. He was sent to Izmael to negotiate with armed militants who kidnapped Korean nationals.
The episode ends on a good note capturing the union of Hong Hee-jo and Paik Sa-eon aka Paik Yu-yeong.
