In When The Phone Rings semi-finale, Yoo Yeon-seok's Paik Sa-eon refuses to believe his wife Hong Hee-joo (Chae Soo-bin) is likely dead

It is the current vs real Paik Sa-eon (played by Yoo Yeon-seok and Park Jae-yun respectively) ahead of When The Phone Rings finale. Hong Hee-joo (Chae Soo-bin) is almost pronounced dead, but her husband does not want to hear it. He is hopeful that she is alive and trying to come back to him. Paik Sa-eon receives a phone cover that belongs to his wife, Hong Hee-joo. The cops ask him to confirm if it does indeed belong to her. Upon not hearing his response, the official adds that the phone cover was retrieved from a place above the dam.

The officials searched for but couldn't find anything in and around the dam. However, he assures Sa-eon that the possibility of survival is very slim.
Sa-eon asks the officer to talk when the body is found. He confirms that till then, the search needs to continue. The husband then asks for an update on the search warrant. He learns that the search warrant was denied on the basis of accusations without solid proof.
The officer points out how Sa-eon's wife being a suspect plays a major role, since she could be in line as the presidential candidate. Offended, Sa-eon talks about how she is more likely a victim. More determined than ever, Sa-eon asks the officer to apply for the warrant again, stating that he has a way of getting it approved.
