When The Phone Rings Finale Episode 12 Preview: Hong Hee-joo cries as her husband Paik Sa-eon disappears; will it be a sad ending?

When The Phone Rings, one of the most loved K-dramas, has reached the climax after many emotional ups and downs. Episode 11 unfolded some truths about Spokesperson Paik Sa-eon and murderer Paik Sa-eon (played by Yoo Yeon-seok and Park Jae-yun respectively). We learned that Hong Hee-joo and the murderer Sa-eon were alive. Towards the end, it showed that the murderer was whispering something to Sa-eon's ears which led him to disappear himself, leaving fans to ponder over what could be the reason. As episode 11 ended on a suspicious note, here is what you can expect from the finale, episode 12 of When The Phone Rings.

When The Phone Rings Finale Episode 12 Preview hints at a sad ending

Episode 11 of When The Phone Rings revealed that Kyu-jin murdered Jang-ho. She wanted him to apologize for killing her own son and replacing him with his son. Jang-ho said that he saved her from the pain her real son would have endured if he had lived. Kyu-jin apologized and put a pillow over his face, killing him. Spokesperson Sa-eon asked Kyu-jin asked her where she had been keeping Hee-joo. In the middle of the investigation, the police informed Sa-eon that Hee-joo was found. Both Hee-joo and the real Sa-eon were kept in Kyu-jin's secret rooms. Mr. Kim was asked to kill Hee-joo if something happened to Kyu-jin but he did not do it and left Hee-joo free while he locked the real Sa-eon up. 

After getting free, Hee-joo confronted her husband, Sa-eon and they hugged. But moments later, the real Sa-eon also arrived. He whispered something to Spoksperson Sa-eon which made him tear up. Next, we saw Hee-joo crying and waiting for a call from her husband as he disappeared after that incident. After waiting, she received a call from '604' which resembled Hee-joo's phone number '406' when she used to call Sa-eon.

Now, as per the above MBC Drama's preview of episode 12, we see that Hong Hee-joo crying inconsolably. She recalled the memories of him by holding a picture of them. The scene also showed she broke down into tears in front of her sister which only hinted at a sad ending. But will the ending be really sad or Sa-eon will come back and end it on a happy note forever? However, as per the digit of the phone number '604,' it also hinted at a happy ending as the phone number might be of Yoo Yeon-seok's Sa-eon. 

Meanwhile, finale episode 12 of When The Phone Rings will be released in a few hours today, January 4 on Netflix.
