When The Phone Rings has left everyone on a cliffhanger by changing the very existence of Yoo Yeon-seok's Paik Sa-eon. It is not just a moment of identity crisis but much more at play right before the finale. Although we do know who Paik Sa-eon is, there are still many questions that When The Phone Rings finale has to answer. Here are a few of them...
What has happened to Hong Hee-joo?
Chae Soo-bin's Hong Hee-joo was kidnapped by the real Paik Sa-eon in the previous episode. He happened to be the kidnapper from the very start. Given this is their second time and his intentions are almost never well, we do not know what has happened to Hong Hee-joo. But if this is anything like a throwback to the very first episode, Hee-joo survived and Sa-eon is in danger.
Will Hee-joo return to her husband?
The real Paik Sa-eon tried to threaten the current Sa-eon (Yoo Yeon-seok) of kidnapping Hee-joo, claiming he wants his life back and that means keeping her too. Hee-joo had promised to take care of the situation by herself and come back to her husband and marry him all over again. Can she keep her promise though?
Who is responsible for the situation Sa-eon and Hee-joo are in?
Hee-joo and the current Sa-eon, obviously, are in a life-or-death situation. It happened when the real Paik Sa-eon was tossed aside and Hee-joo became the bride of the family. None of it was originally planned but has happened owing to some member playing God in the family. Who is that person, who put Sa-eon and Hee-joo in harm's way? We're yet to find that out.
Will the real Paik Sa-eon aka kidnapper come back sane and reclaim what was originally his anyway?
High hopes on this one, but is there a way for the kidnapper aka the real Paik Sa-eon to come back sane and reclaim everything that was originally his? Except Hee-joo, of course.
Will the kidnapper die and Hee-joo get her happy ending?
We already know how the real Paik Sa-eon was supposed to be dead when he was a child. That did not happen, but it sure looks possible now with Hee-joo in the same car as him. Except, she's not in the driver's seat this time around. So, will the real Paik Sa-eon die again and the current Paik Sa-eon take his place after the big revelation? That is also something the finale will explore. If that happens, the current Paik Sa-eon and Hee-joo can lead the lives they are living without being threatened by the real Sa-eon.
