In a heartwarming interview, veteran Kannada actor-filmmaker Jaggesh shared a life-changing encounter he had with Superstar Rajinikanth, which left an indelible mark on his life. The emotional recollection showcased Rajinikanth's generosity and pure-heartedness during a distressing period in Jaggesh's life.
Speaking about the challenging time he faced, Jaggesh revealed, "He (Rajinikanth) has a very sweet hand. I think in 1995, I lost about Rs 80 lakh while trying my hand at different kinds of business. I became a pauper. I had a car but no money to buy fuel. But, my gut told me that I should go and meet Rajinikanth and take an item from him."
Taking the initiative, Jaggesh approached Rajinikanth and shared his predicament. To his astonishment, Rajinikanth immediately offered financial assistance. However, Jaggesh humbly declined and asked for a symbolic gesture instead. "I asked him if he can give me 1 rupee. He took out 100 rupees and prayed with it and gave it to me. Even today, I have that note still with me. And I never faced such a bad situation ever since. He's a pure soul. He's second Rajkumar," he told Film Companion.
Dr Rajkumar, the late legendary movie star, was renowned for his simplicity and child-like innocence, and Jaggesh's comparison with Rajinikanth highlights the immense impact Rajinikanth has had on his life.
On the career front, Rajinikanth has completed shooting for Jailer , with the film now in the post-production stage, scheduled for release on August 10 this year. The movie, directed by Nelson, boasts a star-studded supporting cast, including Tamannaah, Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Redin Kingsley, Vinayakan, and Jaffer Sadiq.
Additionally, Rajinikanth filmed a special cameo appearance in the upcoming movie Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Following this, he is expected to embark on filmmaker T.J. Gnanavel's next project, tentatively titled Thalaivar 170 , produced by Lyca Productions.
